Hexagram One

This blogspot is under construction. In the meantime see http://genesiching.blogspot.com/

Hexagram one: The Creative.

The Judgment:

"The creative works sublime success,
Furthering through Perseverance."

It is difficult to beat the Wilhelm/Baynes commentary on hexagram one. The information there is vital for a full understanding of all that is to come. Hexagram one relates to time, as opposed to hexagram two which relates to space. The six lines are the six stages in which an individual works his way back to original unity. Yin and yang should not be opposites, they should be complementary, opposites oppose each other. Yin and yang should work together. When there is a lack of harmony, (see hexagram 12), they are in opposition. When harmony rules, (see hexagram 11) they are complementary. The lines tell us of the six stages of reparation of balance and harmony, and are a prototype of all the lines that follow in all the hexagrams that follow.
